Hi,

Oberon.Mail.Mod has CONST ... IndexFileKey=74EF5A0DH .  SaveIndexFile() 
writes it to the front of the IndexFile.

The only purpose I imagine is to provide a means of detecting
corruption of IndexFile.  Correct?

Is there a reason for that particular number?  Could be any one of the 
16^8 hexadecimal numbers of 8 digits?  Eg. 75EF5A0DH would work 
just as well?.
