Yes.  I had to put a hdd into the machine.
At the initial attempt to boot Oberon0, the 
bios or ROM gave a message to boot from the 
ROMPaq diskette and update the ROM.  After 
that, Oberon0 works normally.  The only 
problem visible is the failure of keyboard 
and mouse after booting from the hdd.

If there are no ideas here I'll try asking 
in a hardware forum.
