That is a very foolish development then.

I speak/write german (I have to, I live in a country next to it) so I 
know that o-umlaut is the same as 'oe' but ONLY in germany. In Holland 
'oe' is a sound of its own (comparable to the german 'u' sound).

So www.jorg.ch is different from www.joerg.ch but only non native 
speakers with US keyboards know this....
