Hi again,

This morning a message with this link turned up.
https://www.care2.com/go/z/e/A2QWT/zvM7/cwDag

Encouraging to see a little recognition of the junk electronics
problem. One petition won't solve it but we can't yet dismiss the
species _Homo sapiens_ as an evolutionary failure.

To my knowledge, the only publications addressing the problems with
electronics at a formal level are RoHS and the Basel Convention.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restriction_of_Hazardous_Substances_Directive
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basel_Convention

Durability is measured by MTBF or MTTF.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mean_time_between_failures

For RiskFive, consideration of RoHS and safety certifications would be
premature. (?) Presumeably they will exist before general sales. A
claimed MTTF could have a positive effect on market success.

Regards, ... Lyall E.
