The Faculties of Medicine and Science of the University of Zurich invite
applications for the following academic position: Assistant Professorship
for Clinical Tumor Immunology.
The University of Zurich seeks to recruit a faculty member for an
Assistant Professorship (non-tenure track) focusing on human tumor
immunology and clinical cancer immunotherapy. This professorship shall be
embedded in University of Zurich's University Research Priority Program
(URPP) "Translational Cancer Research" (directed by Professors Lars E.
French and Konrad Basler), which bridges innovative fundamental and
cutting-edge clinical research and fosters collaboration of research groups
investigating different aspects of cancer (www.cancer.uzh.ch). The position
will start mid-2017, at the earliest, and is for 3 plus 3 years, based on a
midterm evaluation.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding publication record in the
field of tumor immunology and clinical immunotherapy, with preference of
metastatic melanoma, breast cancer or colon cancer. The candidate is also
expected to have a track-record of successful acquisition of extramural
funding, as well as experience in teaching and supervision of students.
Provided the required clinical qualifications are met, the candidate may
also be involved in clinical activities up to 20% of their time.
Candidates should have an MD (preferred) and/or PhD degree in human
medicine or biology and will be expected to actively participate in
teaching at the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine at the
University of Zurich.
