I studied the description of SwitchTrident9xxx
but still do not understand.  
What exactly is the purpose of this procedure?
What is accomplished in each of the three 
statements? 
   curBank := bank; 
   SYSTEM.PORTOUT(3D8H, CHR(bank)); 
   SYSTEM.PORTOUT(3D9H, CHR(bank)) 

I suspect that many others can benefit from a
clear exposition of this topic.  Perhaps the 
responses can be edited and incorporated 
into the Web page.
