Marius,

> Can I use Linux (Gentoo live CD) and fdisk for this?

Should work. Mostly I used MasterBooter.

> What fdisk options?

I used fdisk only for Linux installations but
it should work just as well as MasterBooter.
Make yourself a set of Debian Woody boot and
root diskettes and run fdisk from those.

Sarge had problems recognizing the drive last
time I tried it. Stick to Woody for now.

The default options should work. Otherwise
there is documentation at http://www.tldp.org/ .
When you are really stuck, ask a more specific
question.

> I have ... "oberon0.dsk" dating 1999-05-13.

Old.

Open http://www.oberon.ethz.ch/ , click "Native Oberon" ,
scroll down to "Latest PC Native Alpha Version" ,
click "Download". Note the "label" "CURRENT-IS-05.01.03".

Retrieve Oberon0.Dsk and rawrite.exe
at least. Get some other *zips if you have
time. Use rawrite.exe to make your Oberon0
diskette. Install Oberon.

We can ta]k about Aos after you have Oberon
working.
