Hello world,
Edgar appropriately pointed out the power consumption of
current PCs -- especially with these absurd uC-chips with
air-conditioners on their backs.
For those who wish to escape the infinite-frontier-view
trap of WinTel, how mature is oberon-on-ARM ?
I understand that Wirth did his 'helicopter project' on ARM ?
Apparently ARM is big and growing in the portable market,
and it's linux tool-chain is good too.

Re. power consumption [which is OK in the winter] the problem
of powering-down when the machine is not in use, and losing
all your setup/layout [imagine if Boeing packed all their tools
& parts away (if ?) they went home to sleep], could perhaps be
accomodated by just saving the whole desktop/frame-tree ?
Related to this it would be usefull to be able to 'bring to the
foreground', any text-frames at any time - a bit like: ET.OpenLog
does.
