Hi,
and sometimes it's the server which is tolerant enough (configured in this
way)
to try some default filename if you give it a directory.

I'm just guessing, but try:
http://www.cablelan.net/peasthope/index.htm
instead of just:
http://www.cablelan.net/peasthope/
Most browsers will automatically try default.htm and index.htm if you omit
the name of the page.
