Chris,
> Is long-term/universal theory for booting available?
My instructions are universal in the sense that the
Oberon0.Dsk file can be written to a diskette or can
support diskette emulation by a hypervisor. What do
you mean by "universal"?
> Or is it always just another specialist device-driver [blacbox]?
Access to any particular storage medium requires a
device driver. As long as new forms of storage are
developed, new device drivers will be needed. No
protocol for universal access to storage exists yet.
> Did ETHO ever master USB?
NO has a driver for UHCI.

If someone contributes OHCI, EHCI or XHCI, good.
> That's why I switched to LEO;
That is the revived Linux Oberon recently announced by
Peter Matthias or something older?
Thanks, ... Peter E.
