No. The default is to store in ETHO [ie. the best] format.
<ET.StoreAscii> uses DOS format. In those days linux was less known.
Do you know the difference between DOS & *nix <end of line>?

ETHO is very small and regular in number of concepts; not an ah-hoc mess like
english of *nix-shell.

Hasn't your version got the documentation ?
? where is documentation = <System.Directory> *.Text
LEO shows aprox 50.
<mouseOpen> Chapter1.Text
You can extract sections to your own <notesFile> and color different aspects
 accordingly, and evolve the <notesFile> as you progress.
